Security Improved As Facebook Uses AI To Detect Fake Ads


You may have noticed that on some ads enabled platform when you clicked on a ads for a product you are interested in you will be taken to a different place entirely, this practice is malicious to ads platforms and it's users
Facebook trying to put an end to this practice on has  announced that they will be clamping down on cloaked ads, which are basically ads that are presented a certain way to get approved for display on Facebook, but when clicked takes users to a completely different website or product, and to do so Facebook will be relying on AI to help identify such ads.
Facebook said, “We are utilizing artificial intelligence and have expanded our human review processes to help us identify, capture, and verify cloaking. We can now better observe differences in the type of content served to people using our apps compared to our own internal systems. In the past few months these new steps have resulted in us taking down thousands of these offenders and disrupting their economic incentives for misleading people.”
Facebook isn’t the only company looking to improve how ads are being displayed on the web. Google is also doing their part in reaching out to publishers to let them know if their ads are annoying, and will also be blocking ads in Chrome that do not meet a certain standard.
